CLIX – the Climate Innovations Exchange, brings together the most aspirational and world-changing ideas under one roof for a single event that will help shape the future of global sustainability. Returning for its second year after a hugely successful inaugural event at World Future Energy Summit 2018, CLIX 2019 is now looking for the applicants who believe that their innovations have what it takes to change the world for the better.

Much like its applicants, CLIX aims to continually calibrate its focus on the issues that will play the greatest role in affecting current and future climate trends. As such, each year will see the event home in on categories that address the most pressing environmental issues and the most relevant breakthrough technologies and innovations.
For 2019, the CLIX submissions categories are:
Sustainability in Space: Deciding the future of space-based activities and exploration will determine not only the future of our home planet, but of our species’ future homes among the stars. This category is dedicated to presenting new innovations that promote harmonious, peaceful and sustainable actions in space, in two main focal points:
a) Space innovations supporting Earth: Encouraging the use of space-based innovations that help us achieving greater sustainability on Earth, such as data capturing and remote sensing technologies which aid our overall understanding of our planet.
b) Earth promoting Space Sustainability: Developing Earth-focused technologies and concepts that will help secure a more sustainable future in space. From the clearing of space debris to the responsible exploration of other planets and extraction of resources, we will focus on how to assure the long-term protection and preservation of outer space.
Future of Energy: Providing a clean, safe and sustainable approach to satisfying our global energy needs is one of the top priorities of practically every national government on Earth. Our applicants from across the world are united by their dream of discovering new ways to support improved energy storage solutions (furthering the proliferation of electric vehicles), kinetic energy innovations and next-generation energy efficiency technologies.
Future of Food and Agriculture: As the world’s population expands and urbanises, the spectre of hunger continues to loom large across much of the globe. Eradicating it without incurring unsustainable damage to farmlands, consumer health and the overall availability of water reserves is one of the greatest challenges faced in the Digital Age. Key categories include advanced crop analysis and management, biotechnology, vertical farming, smart irrigation and other emerging technologies, such as drones & robotics.
Some highlights from CLIX 2018
From food, agriculture, energy to space, climate innovations are very much in demand at CLIX 2019 that would attract investor attention.
· 312 applicants from around the world presented 364 innovative ideas for CLIX 2018.
· 27 finalists were chosen to present their innovations at the World Future Energy Summit 2018 event to a crowd of global leaders, business decision-makers and investors, climate experts and regional thought leaders.
· 12 investors pledged over $17.5 million in support of 16 worthy projects.
