I'd love to get a Techung CD so here goes. MUsic is one of many ways to communicate our way of life and way we see things. Culture is very important. Without culture, our way of life has no defintion. I'm Portugues and I love my culture. I make sure my kids know our heritage by songs and books.
At a time when big companies and powerful governments seem to make all the decisions in the world, Techung's music and lyrics are a reminder that every single voice counts. Tibet should not be a question of politics, but about the right of a people to call a place home.
OK, here's my shot. I want a piece of Techung. An opportunity to glimpse the heart of a man not allowed to return to his homeland. His continual struggle to hold on to his herritage through music. The internal conflict he must experience, knowing he can enjoy his freedom, while his fellowmen are struggling for that simple right. Techung's expression of hopes and the simple pleasure of beauty in music. I want to listen to his messages. To remind myself life is in the simple joys, like music.
